Well Draft day is officially approaching! Less than a week away, most of the prospects draft stock will stick where it is currently, unless any news were to come out that would drop their draft stock. The Eagles have a lot of needs so this is how I see them filling out their draft this year.
Round 1- Reuben Foster LB Alabama- Foster is a top tier talent and may be the best LB to come out since Luke Kuechly. Foster is an everydown LB that will make an immediate impact and be a star in this league. Jordan Hicks can be moved to the outside to form one of the best LB corps in the league with Foster. My heart was set on Christian McCaffrey but I dont think he will get past the Panthers at 8. Defense is immediately upgraded with Foster.
Round 2- Adoree Jackson CB USC- I believe the Eagles are getting themselves a first round talent in Jackson with this pick. Jackson is a jack of all trades that can help in the return game and offense also. On defense he reminds me a bit of Asante Samuel. Guy is a playmaker.
Round 4- Cameron Sutton CB Tennessee- This years draft is loaded with talent at CB. Most years Sutton would likely be a 2nd round pick, but he drops to the 4th this year. Sutton will come in and compete for a starting role at CB right away along with Adoree Jackson as a rookie.
Round 4- Dawuane Smoot DE Illinois- Smoot is a nice pass rusher that could help provide an immediate boost along the defensive line as a rookie. He will compete with Marcus Smith for playing time right away.
Rouns 5- Donnell Pumphrey RB SD State- The heir apparent to Darren Sproles comes in and learns from Sproles for a year before he retires and learns how the best small guy in league history works. Foreman,Smallwood and Pumphrey will be a nice 3-headed monster at RB for years to come. Reminds me of the days of Westbrook, Staley and Buckhalter.
Round 6- Chunky Clements DT Illinois- With the injury of Beau Allen some depth may be needed at DT. Cox and Jernigan are entrenched as the starters this year but Jernigan is a FA after this year. Clements has ability but tends to take plays off at times. Maybe Jim Schwartz will maximize this guys potential.
Round 7- Nyeem Wartman-White LB Penn State – with Hicks and Foster entrenched as the starters it will make guys like Nigel Bradham and Mychal Kendricks expendable. With their likely departure depth would be needed behind them also.
